Al-Mustafa Ready to Link Universities in Iran, Latin America: Official
Hojat-ol-Islam Ali Abbasi made the remark in a meeting with the ambassadors of Venezuela, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Bolivia to Iran, who visited Al-Mustafa International University in Qom on Tuesday.
The envoys were in the holy city to take part in a forum held to discuss the cultural capacities of Iran and Latin America.
Referring to the political commonalities between the two sides, Hojat-ol-Islam Abbasi stressed the need for developing bilateral scientific and academic interaction.
Explaining about the activities of Al-Mustafa, he said it is an international university that offers majors in Islamic sciences, humanities, languages and culture.
He noted that students from various countries in all continents study at the university.
He said Al-Mustafa has academic ties with some 300 universities and scientific centers around the world.
He added that Al-Mustafa has signed memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with a number of academic centers in Latin American countries, expressing hope that the envoys’ visit will help to expedite the implementation of the MoUs.
During the visit, the four Latin American countries’ ambassadors toured different parts of Al-Mustafa International University and learned about its activities and scientific and academic endeavors.
They also expressed hope for the development of academic ties between Iran and their respective countries.
